Our names are Graham and Emma Maxwell, and we are a husband and wife research team based near Annan, in Dumfriesshire, southern Scotland. We have been established in genealogical research for over ten years now, although we have spent much longer in research on our own families. We have regular access to all the main genealogical record sources in Scotland, as well as a variety of English sources.
A particular project we have been involved in in the last five years has been the transcribing, indexing and publishing of the full 1841, 1851 and 1861 census for a number of counties in southern Scotland. Full details on purchasing these is available on our Publications page. The database we have built up as we have transcribed the census for these areas is a unique and invaluable resource for family history research in the area, which we can have at our disposal when doing a family tree in southern Scotland. Although we are therefore well placed to specialise in research in the southern Scottish counties we welcome requests for research all over Scotland.
Our latest project is the indexing and transcribing the 19th century prison records of the Scottish Borders area - indexes can be viewed online as we complete them, from which a transcription of the full entry can be ordered. See our Prison Records page for full details.
