Old Parish Registers
Before 1855 in Scotland, birth, marriage and death records were kept by the churches. Sadly these records are not complete, as many have been lost, destroyed, or never kept in the first place, but we can search what remains. The birth and marriage registers kept by the Church of Scotland, which form the vast majority of the surviving records, have been indexed and are we can provide copies for £4 per entry. As some of these are difficult to read, an additional transcription service is available at £4 per entry.
The Church of Scotland death and burial records along with the records of other churches, are very rarely indexed. Searches in these records start from £10 - please enquire for more information.
For births, marriages and deaths after 1855, please see the BMDs section.
