Dumfriesshire Valuation roll

Valuation rolls were collected annually from 1854 to 1988. For each property they record the name and designation of the proprietor, the tenant, the occupier and the annual rateable value. They do not list any other residents in a property.

Chambers' Historical Newspaper

These are very interesting newspapers with a lot of source information useful in conducting genealogy in Scotland. Particularly helpful are the birth, marriages and death notices in each newspaper.
