Dumfriesshire Valuation roll

Valuation rolls were collected annually from 1854 to 1988 for each property in Scotland. They record the name and designation of the proprietor, the tenant, the occupier and the annual rateable value of the property. They do not list any other residents.

These newspapers contain a lot of interesting source information useful for conducting genealogical research in Scotland. Particularly helpful are the birth, marriages and death notices in each newspaper.
